My name is Julie Jones and I love web analytics, plain and simple.
What began as a journey in search engine optimization (SEO) quickly became a deep dive into the world of marketing data. Along the way, I began to work more and more with individuals who had never been behind the curtain that is web analytics. Soon, explaining these technical web analytics concepts to clients and coworkers alike became a part of every interaction I had. The more I explained, the more people advocated for data and analytics, instead of simply relying on gut instinct alone.
A couple of years in, I realized that all these lessons on Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and tracking were only stored in my head. At the suggestion of a coworker, I decided to turn some of my knowledge into a blog, and one year later learnwebanalytics.com was born.
At the end of the day, I believe that data and analytics held captive is of no use to anyone. By democratizing data and teaching web analytics concepts to non-technical people, we can empower marketers to make smarter decisions that benefit the customer and the bottom line.
